Skywatch Friday

SKYWATCH FRIDAY
See other interesting sky views:
http://skyley.blogspot.com/

Okay, this is a bit of a stretch for a
skywatch photo, but I was looking
"skyward" and discovered this
lovely, newly built robin's nest
perched atop my gutter's drain pipe.

Yes, Mr. & Mrs. Robin were
nearby squawking loudly reminding
me to keep my distance.
TREES
by: Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918)
THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

  1. Ooo - I love garden birds! How lucky to actually have them nesting where you can see them - that's just so precious!

  3. But your robin preferred a gutter. Go figure...
    We had a robin couple make a nest on top of our garage door opener last yers.

  5. That's such a lovely find. Looks like there's a bit of tidying up to do - will it be the usual domestic scenario of Mrs Robin sitting on the nest saying "I wish you'd finish these DIY projects for once"?
